BOOKIES have slashed the odds on the UK having its highest ever September temperature to just 6-4 from 6-1.
The current record stands at 35.6C which was recorded in South Yorkshire in 1906.
Meanwhile, Coral are also odds-on – at 1-2 – for this month to finish as the hottest September ever.
“With temperatures continuing to soar this week, we could be set for the hottest September day the UK has ever had,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“The unusual heatwave for this time of the year certainly gives us a great chance of having a record hot September.”
Temperatures are tipped to top 31C in the UK today – which will make it hotter than Hawaii.
