EVERY new parent wants to give their baby a unique name to match how special they are – but one couple may have taken it a bit too far.
Jessica Mavis and her husband have been mocked for their “crazy” decision to call their newborn daughter ‘KVIIIlyn’.
The little girl’s mum told That’s Life magazine that she “loved” the name Kaitlyn but “hated” how common it was – so she and her husband decided to use Roman numerals to make it more “unique”.
“I’ve always loved the name Kaitlyn but hated how popular it was,” Jessica explained.
“So when I found out I was having a girl, my husband suggested we replace the ‘ait’ with the Roman number symbol for eight!
“Now our daughter is truly unique.”
The Roman numeral for the number eight is ‘VIII’.
However, not everyone was a fan of the unusual name the couple from Queensland in Australia had given their child.
A That’s Life reader shared the story to Facebook, and the post has received over 6,700 comments.
One person wrote: “Too weird. Bet the kid is going to hate her parents later.”
Another commented: “This will forever be the worst name.”
A third shared: “Poor kid, what will she do when she grows up and finds out her parents are morons.”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “It’s actually a joke.”
