‘She absolutely has a grand plan’: Kerry Armstrong, 60, has revealed that her character Alice ‘is a force to be reckoned with’ ahead of her debut on Neighbours this week
‘She absolutely has a grand plan. Alice is a character who pushes every boundary and is a force to be reckoned with,’ Kerry explained.
‘There is a lot of encouragement [from producers] to see who she is and how far she can go,’ she added.
Kerry will debut on the long-running Network Ten soap as Alice, a stranger who offers to help Eve Morey’s character Sonya.
Alice apparently lends a helping hand to Sonya, who is struggling to look after her children Nell and Hugo.
Pushing boundaries: ‘There is a lot of encouragement [from producers] to see who she is and how far she can go,’ Kerry said in an interview with TV Week
However, it doesn’t take Alice long to reveal her sinister side and her genuine intentions soon become obvious.
In August, Neighbours executive producer Jason Herbison said in a statement: ‘Kerry is a legend of Australian film and TV and we are honoured to have her in Neighbours.’
Kerry is a familiar face, having starred in television dramas such as Police Rescue, SeaChange and The Wrong Girl.
In the 1980s, Kerry looked set to become Australia’s next big star in Hollywood, featuring in US programs Dynasty and Murder, She Wrote.

In January, Kerry told News.com.au that she went against her manager’s wishes by signing onto the reality TV show.
‘He said, “Kerry we are not doing it, that would lower your status”,’ she explained.
‘And I said, “Really? Don’t you think I’ve gone low?” I’ve skidded on my a**e a few times. I don’t think I could go any lower. When someone says no, I say f**k it, I say yes.’
