Alexis Sanchez had ONE touch in 12 minutes during Man Utd cameo… but still pocketed a £75,000 bonus

ALEXIS SANCHEZ managed just ONE touch during his 12-minute cameo last night – but he stick pocketed a tidy £75,000.

The Manchester United forward, 30, replaced Matteo Darmian in the 83rd minute of the Manchester derby but did not have the effect Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted or indeed needed.

His only touch was a pass – albeit a successful one – near the halfway line. At least he found a team-mate.

That means in the seven minutes of regular time and five minutes of injury time, Sanchez did not manage a single cross, shot, touch in the opposition’s penalty area, duel or dribble.

United’s 2-0 defeat to rivals City means their hopes of finishing in the top four and therefore qualifying for the Champions League took another dent.

Sanchez has failed to hit the form his £505,000-per-week wages demand since his arrival at Old Trafford from Arsenal last January.

But that solitary touch is thought to have earned Sanchez a staggering extra £75,000.

That is because his agent Fernando Felicevich inserted an appearance fee clause into his four-and-a-half-year deal.

So every time he plays for United in the Premier League or Champions League – regardless of whether that is from the start or coming off the bench – he nets an extra pay cheque.

This season, Sanchez has managed just two goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.

And fans on Twitter are unsurprisingly fed up with the former Barcelona star.

One Twitter user blasted him as the “most unworthy football player in the Premier League”.

Another wrote: “In just 18 months has there ever been as big a decline as that of Alexis Sanchez? He just didn’t look interested last night as he jogged about.”

After seven defeats in their last nine matches – their worst run for 57 years – things do not get much easier for Manchester United who face top-four rivals Chelsea on Sunday.

Defeat at Old Trafford would leave the Red Devils six points off the Champions League places with two games to go.
