After so many ugly headlines about her custody battle with Brad Pitt, it’s nice to see the side of Angelina Jolie that the tabloids rarely show.
The proud mom stepped out for a rare appearance with all six of her kids at a recent film screening, and fans couldn’t help but feel old after seeing how grown up they look.
Jolie and her young ones were in New York to see the new Netflix film The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, but the photo of them posing together stole the spotlight from the new movie.
Since an appearance like this is so rare, it’s a good opportunity to refresh your memory and remind yourselves who all six of those smiling faces belong to.
In the new photo, from left to right, we have twins Knox and Vivienne, 10, Pax, 15, Shiloh, 12, Zahara, 14, and Maddox, 17.
Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne are Jolie and Pitt’s biological children, while Maddox, Pax, and Zahara were adopted (from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia respectively).
With all the smiles on display, it seems that Jolie and her kids are adjusting well to the new custody agreement which sees the kids spending most of their time with their mom.
Jolie’s kids often tag along with her to movie premieres and special events (just not all at once, normally) and the actress is often asked how she manages a house full of teenagers.
“[My kids] all have a good rebellious streak that is wonderful and curious,” she told BBC Radio 4’s Today.
“I don’t want them to be perfectly behaved little people that just say what’s absolutely appropriate because I say so… they have to find themselves.”
In a recent Vanity Fair interview about her very public breakup, Jolie also spoke about putting on a brave face for her children during the turmoil.
“I was very worried about my mother, growing up — a lot I do not want my children to be worried about me,” she told the magazine.
“I think it’s very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them. They need to know that everything’s going to be all right even when you’re not sure it is.”
But all parents have to draw the line somewhere, and for Jolie her limit is social media.
“We’re the last family that hasn’t gone on Facebook!” she told Today, revealing she’s not comfortable giving her kids free rein to explore the internet.
“There are certain realities to teenagers and also our generation doesn’t understand half of what they are doing with their tech so they can get around us pretty easy.”
Were you surprised to see how big Pitt and Jolie’s kids are today?
