Another mystery monolith has popped up – this time in California[/caption]
Locals spotted the structure on top of Pine Mountain in Atascadero on Wednesday [/caption]
According to The Atascadero News, dozens of local hikers trekked to the top of the mountain to view the mystery.
The monolith appeared to be made of stainless steel and was said to be 10-feet tall and 18 inches wide.
The news outlet reported that the object was welded together at its corners, “with rivets attaching the side panels to a likely steel frame inside.”
The object appeared to be hollow at the top and possibly even the bottom, and wasn’t attacked to the ground.

The bizarre structures was estimated to be 200 pounds and local news outlets reported it could be knocked over with a strong push.
Gary Lyons, a runner who frequents the mountain for hikes, said of the nine-foot-tall discovery: “I guess this is a thing now.”
In footage from the scene, Lyons says: “Be prepared to see these everywhere.”
Two weeks ago on November 18, a similar strange structure was found in Utah.

Wildlife officials were counting sheep in Red Rock Desert when they spotted the bizarre structure[/caption]
Wildlife officials had been counting sheep in Red Rock Desert when they discovered the monolith.
Suddenly, gleaming amid the red rocks, a tall, shiny pillar was spotted below their helicopter chopper.
Pilot Bret Hutchings recalled the moment it was found, with a person onboard calling out: “Whoa, whoa, whoa, turn around, turn around.
“There’s this thing, there’s this thing back there. We’ve got to go look at it.”
The monolith protruded about 12 feet from the red rocks[/caption]
The curious crew touched down and examined the shiny, triangular pillar – which protruded about 12 feet from the red rocks.
They found it had been firmly implanted in a small clearing, standing out against the redness of the rocks and sand below.
The officials described it as “a metal monolith installed in the ground.”
Hutchings added: “That is the strangest thing I’ve ever come across out there in years of flying.”
The monolith in Utah has since disappeared[/caption]
He told local news channel KSL-TV: “We were kind of joking around that if one of us suddenly disappears, then the rest of us make a run for it.”
Days later, it disappeared.
One Reddit user said they had managed to geo-locate the obelisk by closely studying the surrounding rock formations.
They claimed the bizarre structure was first captured on Google Earth in 2016.
Another structure just like the ones in Utah and California was seen in Romania[/caption]
This mysterious structure has also disappeared[/caption]
However, some satellite images of the mystery monolith date back to around a year earlier.
And Lieutenant Nick Street, a spokesman for the local Department of Public Safety, said it’s possible the structure has been there for “40, 50 years, maybe more.”
Whatever the Utah object’s origins, it has fired up the minds of conspiracy theorists and sci-fi fans on social media.
