Ant and Dec cuddle adorable puppies named after them to launch the Guide Dogs Pups to Partnerships Appeal

ANT McPartlin and Declan Donnelly cuddled a pair of puppies named after them as they launched a new guide dogs appeal.

The two animal-loving stars posed with their namesakes, yellow Labrador Ant and Golden Retriever Dec, at a cute photo call yesterday.

The furry pair – and we’re talking about the puppies here – are about to begin their journey to becoming guide dogs who will transform the lives of people who are unable to see.

Ant and Dec are supporting this year’s Guide Dogs appeal, which follows the progress of a group of seven puppies throughout October.

Speaking about the partnership, Ant said: “We’re so proud to be part of the Pups to Partnerships campaign.

“Not only do we get to meet these adorable puppies but we also get to hear about the great work that Guide Dogs does.”

Dec added: “These puppies will go on to change lives and give two people living with sight loss the independence and freedom we take for granted and we can’t wait to see how these puppies progress.”

More than two million people are estimated to be living with sight loss in the UK today – with that number expected to double to 4 million by 2050.

The I’m A Celeb hosts are keen dog-lovers in real life, with Dec having a pet called Rocky wile Ant has no fewer than three dogs.

He even celebrated International Dogs Day back in August by posting a picture of Malti-poos Milo and Bumble and chocolate Labrador, who she shares with ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.
