As Princess Mary sports SAME designer jacket as Meghan Markle – a look at their identical fashion

When Crown Princess Mary attended the Danish Science Festival at Peter Liep’s House in Denmark, fashion experts were quick to compliment her stylish look.

However, what many didn’t immediately notice was that the Australian-born royal was wearing an identical $784 Scanlan Theodore jacket to the one worn by the Duchess of Sussex at the Invictus Games late last year.

While Mary’s came in a navy colour, Meghan Markle opted for a maroon crepe knit style.

But this isn’t the first time the pair have dressed alike. In fact, their similar fashion tastes have become apparent on many state occasions, from their similar wedding dresses right the way up to their love of sleek tailoring and heritage patterns.

FEMAIL reveals the royals’ very similar wardrobes.

The first time it became apparent that Meghan Markle and Princess Mary had something in common with their style was when both royals opted for a similar dress for their weddings.

The Duchess of Sussex’s chic wedding dress by Givenchy was a global sartorial hit and featured a boatneck.

However, Crown Princess Mary wore a similar style when she wed Crown Prince Frederik fourteen years earlier in 2004 – and her dress was by the Danish designer, Uffe Frank.

It wasn’t long before suspicions were raised again, when both women opted for similar styles for their first royal engagement after their weddings.

While Crown Princess Mary wore a cream belted dress to attend a luncheon at the Governor Macquarie Tower in Australia in 2005, the Duchess of Sussex later wore a similar mid-length dress with a thin black belt on one of her first royal engagements following the wedding.

She attended a ceremony to open the new Mersey Gateway Bridge in 2018 with the Queen.

The pair later dressed similarly again, when Princess Mary wore a custom skirt made out of recyclable materials by Designers Remix to the Copenhagen Fashion Summit in May 2018.

In August of the same year, Meghan Markle wore a similar skirt by Club Monaco to the wedding of one of Prince Harry’s best friends, Charlie Van Satubenzee.

And it’s not just their formal wear that is similar – the two royals’ casual style is identical too.

Princess Mary attended the Roskilde Festival in 2014 wearing a chic puffer jacket and jeans, before Meghan Markle wore a similar look when she wore Prince Harry’s puffer on the Redwoods Tree Walk in Rotorua in New Zealand in October.

Other occasions where the pair have dressed similarly include when Meghan wore a similar Grecian-inspired dress to Meghan at the British Fashion Awards and when Princess Mary took cues from the Duchess and wore a green tartan coat while on tour in Texas.
