Baby girl spent three days in motel room with parents’ dead bodies after they ‘overdosed’

A SIX-month-old baby girl has been found on the verge of death surrounded by her dead parents in a Michigan motel room.

The infant was found on Friday afternoon but authorities believe she had been alone in the room for three days.

The baby’s parents were identified as Jessica Bramer, 26, left and Christian Reed, 28, right

Her parents are suspected to have died from a drug overdose, with drug paraphernalia found in the room.

A state trooper, who was asked to do a wellness check on the family, found the baby severely dehydrated in the Rodeway Inn near Whitehall.

The child has been identified as Skylah, the daughter of Jessica Bramer, 26, of Grand Rapids, and Christian Reed, 28, of Marne.

Michigan State Police issued a statement, saying: “It is believed that the infant child was alone in the room for a period of days (before being found).

“The 6-month-old child remains in critical condition at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.”

An autopsy was performed on both parents on Saturday but no immediate cause of death was found, WOOD-TV reported.

Toxicology findings aren’t expected for at least 30 days.

White Lake Ambulance Authority emergency medical technician Michele Bridges told reporters: “This precious baby needed a lot heroes and a lot of heroes showed up.”

Family members said Bramer and Reed had been in and out of jail, WKRG reported.

They said Skylah’s grandparents reportedly contacted Children’s Protective Services in January, worried about the baby’s safety.

Inn staff members have reportedly declined to say whether anyone heard the baby crying or saw something suspicious.

Local child protective services agency did not immediately respond to media for comment.

It remains unclear who will take custody of the girl.

Earlier this year, a mother was charged after allegedly killing her one-year-old son when she passed out on him while she had prescription painkillers in her system.

Antoinette King, 33, was arrested after police were called to her home in Lumberton, New Jersey in January.
