Bakery staff misheard mum’s request for Moana birthday cake for daughter and made a marijuana-themed one instead

A CONFUSED birthday-girl shared images of a hilarious cake mix-up after she received a marijuana themed cake, instead of the Moana themed one her mum had originally ordered.

The mum of birthday girl, Kensli Davis, ordered the Hawaiian Disney princess cake for Kensli’s 25th birthday – but the bakers misheard.

The Davis family were bemused when the birthday girl went to blow out her candles on a cake emblazoned with a giant cannabis leaf, green icing and a My Little Pony style character with red eyes and a puff of smoke escaping from its snout.

However, Kensli and her mum found the mix-up hilarious, with the 25-year-old sharing a picture of the druggy dessert on social media.

She wrote: “I haven’t had a chance to tell y’all about our experience this weekend with my birthday cake. “So my mama called and ordered me a cake telling them how much I loved Moana. (Because really I do) “Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana.

Contrary to the baker’s understanding, Kensil is actually a huge fan of the 2016 Disney film, Moana, the story of a young Hawaiian girl who goes on a perilous mission to save her people, meeting the demigod Maui along the way – but most importantly discovering her own identity.

Hits from the film include How Far I’ll Go, which spent 17 weeks in the charts.

Moana featured a star-studded cast, too with Dwayne Johnson playing demigod, Maui, Nicole Sherzinger playing Moana’s mum and Flight of the Conchords actor Jemaine Clement playing a pet crab.

Kensli’s post has been shared 11,000 times – with social media users finding the mix-up as funny as Kensli did.

Luckily, the birthday girl still got to have her cake and eat it – writing: “That ice cream cake was still good though.”
