BEN Shephard says he presented Good Morning Britain in a painkiller haze.
The host, 45, said the strong pills fogged up his head and at one point co-star Kate Garraway had to step in when he started talking without realising.

He was forced to front the popular show despite a back injury – caused when a mate gave him a drunken bear hug.
Ben told the Mirror: “Those were shows that were quite surreal – you can imagine, it was a bit of daze.
“Kate Garraway had to turn round and tell me to be quiet.
“She said, ‘Shush’. And I said, ‘Did I say that out loud?’ and she said, ‘Yeah’. I was taking tramadol which numbed the pain brilliantly.”
Ben said he was forced to quit the pills and deal with the pain naturally.
On his injury he said: “I am falling apart. I had a very middle-aged injury. It was shocking.
“I had literally been to the pub with a friend and said goodbye to him
and walked away – and my back just went. I think I was overly affectionate with my hug goodbye maybe.”
Last week he was forced to step in last minute when regular host Piers Morgan was “off for a few days”.
Piers, 53, anchors the breakfast show every Monday to Wednesday before taking Thursday and Friday off – when Ben Shephard covers him.
But Ben was drafted in at the last minute with the host joking he was covering Piers’ golf trip.
He joshed: “I had a phone call saying they’ve had enough, he’s off, he’s out.”
