Bomb squad is called after RV explodes in Nashville

There has been a huge explosion in downtown Nashville which caused plumes of smoke to rise through the city skyline and scattered broken glass and metal in the streets.

The explosion happened at 6.40am local time on Christmas Day.

A bomb squad has been called but it’s unclear what the source of the explosion was.

According to local reports, ‘shaking’ was felt throughout the city. One report claimed the blast came from an RV but officials are yet to verify that detail.

Others have only said it was a ‘parked vehicle’.

The blast caused damage to downtown buildings but no injuries have been reported.
