Brazen thieves take less than a minute to steal two luxury Mercedes

Three thieves used a relay device to steal two luxury cars worth £120,000 in less than a minute from outside a sleeping family’s home.

CCTV footage from outside the property, in Brent, north west London, captured the three accomplices as they approached two cars at 2am on Tuesday.

One of the trio moved towards the house as the other two strolled up to a white £65,800 Mercedes parked on the street outside.

The pair started the car, its tail lights illuminating the street, before one man jumped out of car and approached a black £54,000 Mercedes.

As the first car was driven away, the second was started, and within minutes the three men had driven away with more than £120,000 of stolen vehicles.

Mohammed Tuma, 50, had purchased the cars in July for himself and his wife.

The family had been sleeping upstairs in their home when the brazen theft was captured on security cameras.

Mr Tuma and his son Ali, 27, didn’t notice they were gone until 7am in the morning.

Ali, a restaurant worker, said: ‘I woke up and thought my parents were both out.

‘I called them to find out where they were, and they were downstairs.

‘I said the cars were not there to my parents and that’s when we realised we had been robbed.’

The family called the police immediately, and have since upgraded their security system to include motion detection cameras.

‘They were looking forward to going on holiday taking the cars with them but that plan’s out the window now.’

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at around 08:18hrs on Tuesday, 20 November to reports of a vehicle theft outside of a property.
