British schoolgirl throws message in a bottle into Spanish sea and gets reply from Moscow

LITTLE Taylor Powell threw a message in a bottle in the sea while holidaying in Spain — and got a reply from Moscow.

Taylor, four, put a selfie in the bottle with her dad’s phone number and the message: “If you find this picture, please respond with a name of your country and a picture.”

And 20 days after she tossed the bottle in the water in Santa Susanna, near Barcelona, dad Ritchie got a text from a couple named Sasha and Alex.

They said they found the bottle in a Moscow river and sent a snap of Taylor’s note. They signed it off with “From Russia with love”.

Ritchie, of Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, said: “Taylor is ecstatic — for the bottle to turn up in Moscow is magical for her.”

Oceans expert Dr Adrian New said it was possible the bottle was swept around Spain, past Scotland, over the Baltic and into Russia — but the trip should have taken much longer.
