British Soap Awards viewers gobsmacked as Tracy Shaw presents Sue Nicholls with her lifetime achievement award

THE former Corrie actress was on stage to present the lifetime achievement award to her friend and veteran actress Sue Nicholls for her work as Audrey Roberts.

Maxine was murdered in 2003 by Richard Hillman who was, ironically, Audrey’s daughter Gail’s husband at the time.

The actress has kept a relatively low profile since her character had her head stoved in by serial killer Richard Hillman almost 16 years ago.

Fans couldn’t believe their eyes when the glamorous blonde took to the stage in a stunning strapless cream, gold glittery dress looking like she had barely changed.

One wrote: “OMG! Maxine Peacock has never aged since Richard Hillman stoved her head in all those years ago! #Corrie #BritishSoapAwards”

While another added: “Is that MAxine Peacock? omg #SoapAwards”

But one thought the actress had differed since last on screen, writing: “#SoapAwards2019 Blimey Maxine peacock looks diff !”

Tracy, who played Corrie hairdresser Maxine Peacock, really doesn’t look like she’s changed since leaving the soap 16 years ago.

The 45-year-old took to the stage at The Lowry theatre in Salford to present her former co-star Sue Nicholls with her outstanding achievement award.

Another fan added: “OMG! Maxine Peacock has never aged since Richard Hillman stoved her head in all those years ago!”

While one added: “Tracy Shaw! Where has she been hiding? And how does she look exactly the same 20 years on?!”

A third tweeted: “Tracy Shaw looks lovely”

Maxine, who was married to butcher Ashley and had a young son Joshua, was famously killed by dastardly Richard Hillman in 2003.

He beat her with a crowbar after she returned home from the pub, telling her she should have stayed at the party.

Tracy played the hairdresser and street resident between May 1995 and January 2003 and first appeared as a friend of Fiona Middleton.

The actress won Rear of the Year in 1996 and she had a pop career in 1998, releasing two singles Ridin’ High and a cover of Lonnie Gordon’s Happenin’ All Over Again.
