DEAN Gaffney left Celebs Go Dating viewers in hysterics after being turned down by a potential date – insisting the woman was “a Corrie fan.”

However, Dean’s CGD debut wasn’t without its setbacks after being pied by a potential date.

After asking Martine out for drinks, she said: “I think on this occasion I’ll probably say no.”

Despite the rejection, Dean, 42, was quick to add: “You must be a Corrie fan.”

The moment was a hit with viewers on Twitter.

The EastEnders star confidently walked up to two girls sat at a table and said: “Alright ladies. What’s your name darlin’?”

One girl in particular caught the actors eye – Tasha – who he then went on to complement and ask where she was from.

“Essex,” she replied, “Where about’s in Essex?,” he asked back.

When his date explained that she was from Romford the star took the chance to talk about how much he likes her hometown – but little did he know that this would enable them to take the mickey out of his age.

“Romford’s nice. I had my 18th birthday in a club called the Hippodrome. It’s changed now I think it’s a bowling alley,” Dean said to spark up conversation.

His other date cheekily asked: “How long ago was that?!”

Last year, the star was dumped by model girlfriend Rebekah – who was 16 years his junior – after three years together.
