Charlie was sacked from the show back in 2011 due to his hard-partying lifestyle, with Warner Bros Television, issuing a statement saying they had acted after ‘careful consideration’.

At the time, the father-of-five was earning $2.1 million per episode.

Now sober and keen to get back into acting, Charlie told his Melbourne audience that he’s ready to shoot a reboot of the series, should anyone be interested.

‘If someone calls to say, “Do you want to reboot a show that people actually cared about and want to see again”, then I am ready,’ he said.
