And his comments admitting being torn between a new £300,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge or quitting for the Bernabeu have been noted by the Spanish giants.

Madrid can pile on the pressure with a £100million January bid as Hazard will have just 18 months left on his Chelsea contract, with his value dropping with every window.

He is wanted to help seal a fourth straight Champions League and get back on track in La Liga after dropping to fourth.

Hazard admitted at the World Cup “it might be time to discover something different” after six years with Chelsea.

But those who know the Belgium forward say he also feels loyalty to his club after they put him on the map.

SunSport revealed on July 29 that a move to the Spanish capital was over in the summer after they made Thibaut Courtois their priority.

And while Courtois went AWOL to make sure his move went through, Hazard made sure he prepared correctly for the Premier League campaign.

He has hit top form with eight goals so far this season but recently admitted still being interested in a move to Real.

“Real Madrid is the best club in the world, I don’t want to lie. It is my dream since I was a kid,” he said.

But he added: “Sometimes I want to stay.”

UEFA rules state players can feature in the Champions League knockout stages if they have played in the Europa earlier in the campaign.
