Cheryl’s performance in the opening routine was criticised by viewers

Others simply accused Cheryl of not being up to her co-stars standards, writing: “Oh, Cheryl. Being on stage with Oti and Matthew does not highlight your strengths.”

Another said: “Cheryl demonstrating how absolutely not to dance on The Greatest Dancer, cheers for nothing.”

Tonight’s live show opened with Cheryl, Oti and Matthew bursting onto the stage to dance together, with all three judges having the same routine to learn.

However, Cheryl seemingly stumbled over the moves and lost track of the steps as she tried to keep up with her co-stars.

Each of the mentors then danced with their final three, putting on a show as they introduced the finalists.

The Greatest Dancer is Simon Cowell’s new talent show that sees hopefuls competing to win £50,000 and a chance to perform on Strictly Come Dancing.

The programme aims to discover the best dancers from all sorts of backgrounds including Bollywood, ballet, jazz, jive, tap and tango.

In addition to Cheryl, Oti, and Matthew, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon and Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo appear in the show as hosts.
