THIS is the heart-stopping moment a homeless man pushed a total stranger under a truck.

The harrowing CCTV shows the rough sleeper shoving the pedestrian under the wheels of the lorry in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday.

His attacker wears an luminous yellow hoodie, grey tracky bottoms and trainers.

The video starts as the man scares a woman standing on the pavement.

Then he launches the sick assault, shoving the man into the road, before picking something up from off the street and then calmly walking off.

He lays under the front tire for at least ten seconds.

Passer-bys can be seen rushing to help the man and the driver backs up.

Cops arrested the suspect on Wednesday evening after hunting him for several hours.

Officer Mike Lopez told local reporters: “The victim islisted in critical condition with a collapsed lung and scrapes, bumps and bruises.

“We think he is going to make it, which is great news.”

The homeless man was nabbed after his distinctive yellow jacket was spotted on the street by firefighters.

He has been charged with attempted murder.

Firefighter Austen Johnson told ABC: “It was definitely the bright neon rain jacket and the baggy pants, and just the demeanour the guy had.”
