LONG-TERM Liverpool target Christian Pulisic has heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp and claims the club’s Champions League run last season is an inspiration.
The German boss is a keen admirer of the talented American from their time together at Borussia Dortmund.
Klopp was responsible for integrating Pulisic into the senior squad at Dortmund.
The forward showed his potential with two goals against Liverpool in their International Champions Cup last week.
And the 19-year-old claimed the progress Liverpool have made under Klopp has motivated the Bundesliga club to match their achievements.
Speaking to Goal, he said: “It was incredible to see their run to the final,
“We would like to do something like that ourselves this year, I have to say. That’s the ultimate goal.”
Speaking about Klopp, he added: “He was there when I came,

“I was obviously playing with the youth teams at Dortmund, but he was the one who gave me my first professional training session, just to give me a taste of it.
“He always accepted me and he was very kind to me, so I will always be thankful for that. I know he’s a great guy, and it’s nice to see him doing so well for Liverpool.
“I personally didn’t get to know him too well, but I’ve heard stories from some of my team-mates who did, and they loved playing for him.”
