Claire Foy stuns in bold red dress for special screening of The Girl In The Spider’s Web in NYC

Claire Foy gained world-wide attention for her portrayal as Queen Elizabeth for two seasons on the hit Netflix show, The Crown.

Now the 34-year old British born actress is taking over the iconic role of Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With The Spider’s Web: A New Dragon Tattoo Story.

And on Sunday, she looked striking in a bold red dress when she hit the red carpet for a special screening of the much-anticipated movie in New York City.

The 5ft 4in beauty commanded attention in the full-length number when she stepped in front of an array of photographers.

The rich color and stylish creases gave off an edgy-elegance to the eye-catching piece.

For added wow factor, she wore a large dark red belt that helped accentuate her womanly curves.

The accessories were kept to a minimum, with the exception of a ring and hoop earrings, and she wore her short dark tresses pushed back off of her face with a part to the left.

After 2011’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, most expected Sony to adapt the next two books in the Millennium Trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.

Instead, the studio opted to continue the franchise by adapting The Girl in the Spider’s Web, the first novel from David Lagercrantz, who took over the book series after Larsson’s death.

The new adaption, which follows Salander as she tries to rescue and exact vengence for battered women, is a sequel to David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and the second installment in the American-produced Millennium film series.

The film, which also stars Sverrir Gudnason, LaKeith Stanfield and Stephen Merchant, premiered at the Rome Film Festival October 24, and will hit theaters in the US Friday November 9.
