Snapper Mike Hutton, 48, said: “It was absolutely baltic on the day so they had to climb quickly to avoid getting a chill.”

The adventure photographer snapped the pair in the Peak District earlier this month.

Mike said: “The idea each year was to choose a fancy dress outfit that made the climb more difficult than the previous year.

“Most elite rock climbers would be happy to climb this with normal clothes on.

“This year was a special ten-year celebration and they had run out of fancy dress options so decided to go naked.

“It was absolutely baltic on the day – it was three degrees Celsius with a brisk North Westerly wind – so they had to climb it very quickly indeed to avoid getting a chill.”

Mike said despite the cold, the climb was actually easier for the adrenaline junkies naked.

He said: “It’s definitely more difficult without clothes according to Tom and Pete as you feel more exposed.

“The biggest danger would have been pulling a back muscle or falling off the route and rubbing some flesh on the rock.”
