“Be the reason someone smiles today.”
This is the story of a Police Officer named Damon Cole…and the sick children that he calls “HEROES”.

“I am a full time police officer in Fort Worth, TX. In my off time from work I travel the country seeing children with cancer and other illnesses as their favorite superhero. Everything I do is FREE.”
“This is what started it all 14 years when I decided to have the Superman logo put on my bullet proof vest. I did this so I could show it to kids on calls for service so they wouldn’t be scared of the police.”
“I received this message from (5-yr. old) Joshua’s mom Corrie.
‘Damon, this is Corrie. My son, Joshua is fighting Rhabdomyosarcoma. His last chemo is scheduled at Dallas Children’s and I would love it if the Hulk could be there for him’.”
“After work I went to see my 5 year old HERO Joshua. I surprised my HERO Joshua was his very first bicycle and of course it had to be Hulk green. I was honored to see HERO Joshua and make him smile.”
“Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story.“
“A child’s life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark.”
“We rise by lifting others.”
“The BEST part about this picture is the fact that you can see this little girl’s BIG smile through her mask.
That is simply awesome.
That is why I do what I do.”
“This is the hardest part of what I do. I went to see HERO Jeremiah as Batman after I had finished my shift at work.”
“When I saw HERO Jeremiah he was clinging to life. It destroyed my heart seeing HERO Jeremiah like this.
A few hours after I left HERO Jeremiah passed away.”
“I was asked to attend HERO Jeremiah’s funeral as Batman and I was honored to do this for HERO Jeremiah and his family.”
“Anyone that knows me, knows I carry many different superhero stuff in my assigned police car. I do this because I want people to come up to my police car to see it. This is a tool I use to engage the community I serve.”
“All the adults and their kids love it.
I saw this little boy looking at my car with his dad so I took out my Thanos gauntlet glove to give him a high five.
He asked me how I got his glove.
I told him, ‘Thanos thought he could come to Fort Worth and commit crime but he was wrong. I arrested Thanos and put him in jail and I took his gauntlet glove and I use it for good’.”
“I am currently having the interior of my Batmobile done. Once it’s done, it will…look better than the real Batmobile.
Sick children will be able to sit inside of it and hit buttons that light up, interact with computer monitors and activate the weapons on the Batmobile.
Always go BIG or go home.”
“I never have and I never will charge anyone for what I do.”
“I will go anywhere in the United States and Canada. Hopefully soon I can do this in Europe also. I have currently been to 22 States and seen well over 1,000 children. Remember kindness is FREE.”
“My HERO Mia passed away yesterday at 4:00 pm from cancer.”
“HERO Mia was an amazing little girl. She was so strong and she fought so hard. I am really at a loss for words. My heart is hurting so bad for HERO Mia and her family.”
“Please everyone take a minute out of your day and say a prayer for HERO Mia and her amazing family during this difficult time. R.I.P. HERO Mia, you will always be my HERO.”
“This saying is on the trunk lid of my custom 2012 Superman / Batman Dodge Charger. I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say, ‘Because of you I didn’t give up’.”
Officer Damon Cole is also a Dad
“You are the BEST part of me. You will always be daddy’s little girl.”
“My world, my love, my everything, my daughter Savannah.”
“Dakin is 10 years old. He has Spinal Muscular Atrophy with Respiratory Distress. It’s an extremely rare (as in only 100 people diagnosed in the world) genetic neuromuscular disorder. His dream is to be a police officer but that is not possible because of his medical conditions.”
“Monday is going to be an amazing day for Hero Dakin and his family.”
“We have to all come together and find a cure for cancer.
This has to STOP!!!!!!”
“It was my honor and pleasure to be Superman for HERO Super Sammy…his parents Charles Puma and Kristen Puma are like family to me and I will always be there for them.
Please continue to pray for them during this difficult time.”
“The best way for any family to get in touch with me is via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
