CORONATION Street fans are going to have to wait a whole week between episodes as the soap is cancelled to make way for the Euro 2020 England matches.
Not only will there be no visit to the ITV soap on Friday, October 11 but also on Monday, October 14 – and it’s all because of the football.
England will be playing Czech Republic on the Friday and on the Monday they are up against Bulgaria in the competition’s qualifying matches.
So between Wednesday, October 9 and Wednesday, 16, there will be absolutely no Coronation Street at all.
While Emmerdale is cancelled on both those days, there is the regularly scheduled hour-long episode on the Thursday beforehand, as well as a special hour long one on the Tuesday to make up for the missed episode.
ITV currently has no plans to make up for the lost Corrie, so die-hard fans might just have to wait a week.
Sport has been causing absolute havoc with ITV’s scheduling recently, as their most popular shows are upended for their coverage of the Rugby World Cup.
England’s match against the USA on Thursday, September 26 saw This Morning’s slot replaced with an early Tipping Point at 10.25am.
Meanwhile, Loose Women’s slot was bulldozed entirely by the rugby match in Japan.
Also, Scotland’s match against Samoa on Monday, 30 September also took over This Morning and Loose Women’s slots, with analysis and coverage absorbing everything from 10.25am to the lunchtime news at 1.30pm.

Daytime telly viewers were furious about the clashes and took to Twitter to complain.
One person wrote: “Sorry but who cares about the Rugby? It’s 10:30am I need my Holly and Phil fix.”
Another added: “You could’ve put Rugby on another channel nobody watches. 5 weeks of Rugby interrupting the schedule is not acceptable.”
A third said: “Why? We don’t want to see this nonsense.”
