When Roy is evasive, Brian – Peter Gunn – tells him that he’s enlisted Wayne to help him figure the mystery out. Roy hides his worries and smiles encouragingly at Brian’s plan.

Later, Brian and Wayne try to get Roy interested in their research, but Roy ushers them out of the café, making out he has to close up because he’s due at Ken Barlow’s.

Wayne is left puzzled by Roy’s behaviour and is worried for him.

Later still, Roy grows tired about Wayne’s preoccupation about Carla and tells him sternly that he’d appreciate it if he stopped using him to try and glean info about the factory boss.

Another added; “Right, WHY does Wayne keep looking at Carla like that?””

A third agreed, writing: “Wayne wants to take down Carla so much… I feel theres something more to this idk.”

A fellow viewer tweeted: “Wayne’s creepy stare at Carla as Peter drove her out of Weatherfield. There’s more to him than meets the eye.”
