Coronavirus UK LIVE: Deaths reach 39,045 amid fears over test and trace system and lockdown measures eased

MILLIONS of vulnerable people have been told it is safe for them to venture outdoors again as lockdown measures were eased today.

Two million shielding Brits have been given the all clear after experts ruled there is now just a 1,000-to-one chance of them catching coronavirus.

It comes as the UK’s coronavirus death toll hit 39,045 after 111 more deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.

On Saturday, the Government warned Brits “not to tear the pants out” of incoming lockdown freedoms as the nation was allowed to meet in groups from today.

But there are fears over the test and trace system implemented to help track down who a potential coronavirus sufferer has been in contact with.

Meanwhile, new allowances saw some primary school kids return to classrooms today.

But experts have warned the country risks seeing a second peak of coronavirus over fears the easing of restrictions has come too soon.
