THE government has warned against a “coronaviurs-related” disease affecting children under five.
In some cases youngsters have been left fighting for their lives with terrifying symptoms including swollen heart valves.
NHS doctors have been sent an urgent alert warning of a rise in kids admitted to intensive care with a coronavirus-related condition.
An apparent spike in cases of youngsters suffering with an “inflammatory syndrome” has been recorded in the last few weeks.
Meanwhile, UK deaths spiked at 21,678, with experts warning the real tally – including care home and home deaths – is much higher.
This comes as Matt Hancock expanded testing for Covid-19 to make 25 million more Brits eligible.
Those who can be tested include:
- Care home residents, staff and NHS workers without symptoms
- All over-65s and their families with symptoms
- Anyone who have to leave home to work and has symptoms, including builders, plumbers, those in manufacturing
- Families of anyone who leaves the house to work and has symptoms
