LONDON and Liverpool appear poised to avoid strict Tier 3 restrictions – a day after the UK recorded its highest daily Covid death toll since April.
England is returning to a beefed up version of local lockdown restrictions once the shutdown ends on December 2.
Manchester could enter strict Tier 3 measures while it’s likely that “very few” areas will enter Tier 1 restrictions.
The announcement comes after the UK recorded 696 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours – the highest figure since April.
