Covid UK news LIVE – All adults ‘to have vaccine by summer’ as ministers plan quarantine hotels for all UK arrivals

ALL people over 18 ‘could be vaccinated by June’, while tightened quarantine rules may come in as part of a crackdown on foreign travel.

It comes as Boris Johnson urged Brits not to relax despite 3.5m vaccinations being handed out – and tightened Britain’s borders over virus mutation fears.

Boris Johnson announced all travel corridors would be closing at 4am on Monday morning, with no date set for when they might reopen.

And news broke on Saturday that the Government is considering tough new rules for people quarantining on arrival in Britain – including face recognition technology – to ensure people follow the rules.

The Prime Minister made clear that the borders are being closed over fears new mutant Covid strains, such as the South Africa and Brazil variants, could impact on the mass vaccination roll-out in the UK.
