Love Island’s Wes Nelson is going to swap the Spanish sunshine for the rink after being confirmed as the twelfth and final contestant to sign up for Dancing On Ice.
The reality star has revealed he is ‘super intimated’ to be showing off his skating skills on the show, which will return to ITV in the New Year, as he competes against an impressive line up – including Grease icon Didi Conn and X Factor’s Saara Aalto.
Speaking in a statement, Wes – who is in a relationship with Megan Barton Hanson – joked: ‘Gemma Collins is going to wipe the floor with me, I’m super intimidated. I’ve been looking at the line up thinking “oh my gosh!” Of course you’ll be seeing my hips on the ice and the hips don’t lie!’

Wes, Didi and Saara will join Gemma Collins, Richard Blackwood, James Jordan, Brian McFadden, Saira Khan, Ryan Sidebottom, Melody Thornton, Mark Little and Jane Danson as they prepare to battle it out to be crowned champ under the watchful eye of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
Speaking on Lorraine about the exciting new venture, Grease actress Didi, 67, said: ‘Boy oh boy, I’m going from being a Pink Lady to Queen of the Ice. Yes, it’s true. I’m going to be in the line-up for Dancing on Ice 2019.
‘I’m coming to the UK on Monday, I’m sure I’ll get to see you.’

On joining the show, vocal powerhouse Saara said ‘I’m super excited about this, I love new challenges and I’m very ambitious.
‘I can be very competitive, but I mainly want to challenge myself. I’ll be saying to myself “Saara, you need to push yourself more!” I am so ready for this and I can’t wait to get on the ice.’
This comes after Coronation Street star Jane Danson confirmed on Thursday she will also be getting her skates on for the show, and admits it will be ‘a challenge’.
She said: ‘I’ve known since July so quite a while, so I’ve had to keep it under my hat for a long time. The next few days I’ll be starting the training. I can skate a little bit.
‘I think, obviously, when you take on something like this, you’ve got to expect that it’s not without risks but I’m not really thinking about that because I’m seeing it as a challenge.’

Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton and former Neighbours star Mark Little will also take to the rink.
The singer and dancer’s participation in the celebrity talent show was announced on Thursday’s edition of Good Morning Britain.
‘I guess the cat’s out of the bag,’ she said. ‘I’m so excited, I can’t wait to see you and I can’t wait to do some skating for you!’

Mark has been confirmed as the eighth celebrity contestant. The Australian actor, 58, best known for his role as Joe Mangel in long-running soap Neighbours, was announced during Thursday’s Build Series in London.
‘How exciting this is! My skating is pretty rickety,’ he said after confirming his participation in the returning show.

Gemma and Richard were the first stars confirmed for the next series.
The duo were unveiled during Monday’s episode of This Morning as they spoke about the new challenges they will face on the ITV skating show.
Admitting she is ‘scared and nervous’ about taking part in the challenge, Gemma added that one of her biggest fears is that her partner won’t be able to lift her.

She confessed: ‘I know how hard it is, I’ve done my research. I am scared and nervous, I don’t know how they’re gonna lift me up and how fast I can get around the ice… I really want to give this a go.’
Gemma also revealed she’s going to be giving it her all when she competes, saying: ‘I’ve asked the producers to let me come out to Crazy In Love by Beyonce. I’m really going for it!
‘I done my own show earlier this year and they want to do a Christmas special but I said they’ll have to film me on the ice rink!’
Twelve celebrities will put on their skates and sequins in the quest for glory, under the watchful eye of the skating legends Torvill and Dean, who head up the judging panel.
Each week the stars will skate live with their professional partners in a bid to impress both the panel and the viewers, who will ultimately decide who wins the show.
