Dancing On Ice’s Melody Thornton nails dangerous headbanger move after worrying she’d DIE if she got it wrong

DANCING On Ice’s Melody Thornton nailed the dangerous headbanger move on last night’s show – after worrying she’d die if it all went wrong.

The singer, 34, became the first celebrity to try out the move this series – and, luckily, it all went well.

The routine saw Melody’s dance partner, Alexander Demetriou, swing her around by the ankles with her head just centimetres away from the ice.

Melody gained a high score of 32.5, beating all of her other celebrity contestants.

On last year’s series the headbanger was first attempted by Jake Quickenden, who eventually won the show.

But it doesn’t always go so well – David Seaman dropped partner Pam O’Connor while rehearsing the move in 2006. She was left needing stitches to her chin.

Melody previously told The Sun Online that she was worried about what’ll happen to her if the move went wrong.

She said: “I’m just trying not to die… I could crack my head.”

Meanwhile, the former Pussycat Doll has ruled out a romance with her married Dancing on Ice partner Alexander.

She told the Mirror: “I’ve dated someone I worked with before…

But it went down well with the judges – and hosts Holly and Phil

“I made that mistake later in my career and said to myself this is why you don’t do it.

“Not only would I not want to be working with someone that I’m dating, when I’m at work I need that respect.

“I think sometimes the line gets crossed.

“That would be a no-no for me.”
