Everything does not always end well in the fairytale world of Disney. The mouse-eared firm has launched the careers of many personalities by having them play in television films or series intended for children and teenagers. Set up as a model for young people, some of these stars grew up experiencing a real descent into hell. In 2008, the “Camp Rock” phenomenon propelled Demi Lovato to the rank of teenage idol. On Tuesday, she was hospitalized after an overdose in Los Angeles. The TMZ site initially mentioned a heroin overdose, but an anonymous source denied this information without specifying which substance had caused the overdose. The 25-year-old actress and singer “has woken up and is surrounded by her family,” her agent said shortly after being taken over by the emergency services.

The young woman has been fighting her demons for years without being able to gain the upper hand. As a teenager, Demi Lovato suffered from bulimia, depression and self-harm before becoming addicted to cocaine and alcohol. She decided to seek treatment in 2010 after hitting one of her dancers in the face. For months, she followed a detoxification treatment in a center which she recounted in the documentary “Staying Strong”. Despite her efforts, the young woman later admitted that the treatment had not completely saved him from his addictions. She spoke about her relapse in her song “Sober”, released last June.
