POLICE are desperately searching for a two-year-old boy after his parents were found dead in their car in a reported murder-suicide.
Authorities believe Daniel Salcido shot his partner Hannah Janiak in the head before turning the gun on himself moments after a police chase in Kalispell, Montana.
The couple’s toddler Aiden Castiel Salcido is no where to be found.
It is believed the homeless couple, from Oregon, were living in a tent in the weeks prior to their death.
They were reported missing by concerned relatives on June 11 after Janiak failed to show up in court for sentencing.
Salcido, 21, and Janiak, 24, were wanted on felony warrants for burglary when police stopped them on Wednesday night.
Their tyres were spiked by police when they tried to speed away.
By the time cops got to the vehicle they were both dead.
Officials say there was no trace of little Aiden was found at the scene, NBC Montana reports.
There was no car seat in their GMC SUV and it was full of camping gear.
The search for the lad spans across Oregon to Montana as the FBI is reportedly involved.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino said the case is complicated because the couple had given false names to police in a previous run in with authorities.
Heino said: “We’re doing a lot of the old-fashioned way.
“We’re getting out to the community, seeing who has seen the vehicle and using a lot of aspects of where that car has been.”
“There was no child seat, something that would indicate a child was in the car.

“We found nothing that would indicate a child was with them.”
In a statement the Kalispell Police Department said: “Investigators are greatly concerned for Aiden’s welfare and are asking for the public’s help in locating him safely and expeditiously.”
Police continued: “Hannah was described as a good mother. Family also said the trio were homeless and would camp along the greenway in Medford.”
