Bungie s Cause Combat Stream detailed a number of new systems implemented in the next few weeks to Destiny 2 s expansion.
Speaking with Sandbox Design Manager Josh Hamrick and Senior Sandbox Designers Claude Jerome and Greg Peng, Commander David DeeJ & Dague presented the upcoming features.
It was also noted that some of these systems will roll out on August 28 and will be available to all Destiny 2 players; regardless of whether they own the expansion.
The time-to-kill shrinkage gets a real shot in the arm, with overall weapon and ability to be injured. Melee attacks will now kill a full-time guardian in just two strikes, while precision shots will also handle more damage.
Included in the patch are the nine new supers as well as adaptations to existing class abilities. Most importantly, Golden Gun gets an extension of two seconds, which is good news for those who pop Super too early and end up going through a game that seeks endlessly for enemies.

The August 28 patches will also introduce the new weapon game options, allowing players to equip a more varied truck space.
The release of The Cause Next Month will see a new weapon drip system that will offer new ways to customize and weapon weapons through the Mods and the Masterwork system.
In addition to the existing mods that change a weapon element injury, new modes will improve target acquisition, magazine size or accuracy. These mods will be random rolls on loot drops, but will be added to a player’s inventory for future use when disassembling the weapon as it is currently equipped.
Masterworks will now have a tiered system from 1 to 10 with an increasing resource cost attached to each upgrade.
