EastEnders spoilers: Mel Owen takes drastic action to stop Hunter from killing again as she hides all the knives in the house

MEL Owen is driven to take drastic action against her son Hunter in EastEnders next week as the teen’s erratic behaviour becomes even more concerning.

As the week in Walford kicks off, Mel – played by Tamzin Outhwaite – makes the decision to tell the police exactly what happened on New Year’s Day and tries to reassure Hunter – who fans know shot Ray Kelly – it’s for the best.

But Mel is left worried when she can’t find her son and – after a run in with Maddie Wright – realises she can’t confess to their crimes.

She’s then relieved when she finds Hunter back at home, but is shocked when he tells her where he’s been.

Filled with fear, she locks Hunter (Charlie Winter) in the house before heading over to the Mitchell’s where she offers Phil her share of the club.

She’s floored when she gets a call from Hunter telling her the police have arrived at the house.

The police tell Mel that Hunter has been threatening Maddie and Nicola and she’s chilled by her son’s attitude when the cops have left.

Mel then decides to accept Phil’s offer on the club and tells Hunter they’re moving away.

Later she takes Hunter for lunch at the Vic but, still worried about his behaviour, she hides all the knives in the house to protect him.

He questions her about why there are no knives in the house anymore and Mel admits she just wants him to be safe.

Seeing his mum’s concern, Hunter agrees they should leave Walford.

Will they go?
