Eighties soap sirens Dame Joan Collins, 86, Linda Gray, 79, and Donna Mills, 79, reunite at party

In their 1980s US soap opera heyday it would have been difficult to fit all the big hair and shoulder pads into one picture.

These days Dame Joan Collins, Linda Gray and Donna Mills are a lot more understated when it comes to dressing up for a night out.

The actresses – famed for their roles in, respectively, Dynasty, Dallas and Knots Landing – were pictured at a Christmas party in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Dame Joan, 86, and Linda, 79, shared pictures of the event on Instagram after teaming up with Donna, also 79.

Linda – JR Ewing’s alcoholic wife Sue Ellen in Dallas – wrote: ‘Lovely seeing good friends.’

She played the role in 1978 for 11 years continuously until 1989, later returning for sporadic appearances.

She returned to the role again for the 2012 continuation series of Dallas, which ran until 2014.

In the series of snaps, Dame Joan was glamorous as always, wearing a sequined dress with a classy black tube top adorned with her ubiquitous jewelry ensemble.

Last summer, Joan spoke to Hello! about her secret to a happy marriage after she tied the knot with her husband Percy Gibson at Claridge’s Hotel, Mayfair, in February 2002.

She said: ‘You won’t always agree about everything, but you need to enjoy each other’s company. Percy is such an amazing man, he is so kind and so caring.

‘People get married on the crest of lust. Once that’s gone, they look and think: “What the hell? Who is this person?” There has to be something else to fall back on. If there isn’t, they start looking.’

Dame Joan was first married to actor Maxwell Reed in 1952 but the couple divorced in 1956.

Sparks flew when Joan met 22-year-old actor Warren Beatty in 1959 and the couple were engaged in the early 1960s but they split shortly after.

She mended her heartache with actor and singer Anthony Newley in 1963 and the lovers went on to have two children: Tara and Sacha.

Following their divorce, the Dynasty star got hitched to Ron Kass in 1972 and she welcomed her third child Katyana into the world but their marriage ended in 1983.

Joan then married Swedish singer Peter Holm in a glitzy ceremony in Las Vegas in 1985 but they went their separate ways for good when they divorced in 1987.
