ENGLAND fans are plotting two weeks at home watching Euro 2020 – but they need to act fast.
Supporters who fall pregnant in the next few days can expect a baby in time for the championships and two weeks’ maternity and paternity leave.
Three Lions fans are sharing the top tip on social media pages dedicated to football with one male-centric post reading: “Heads up: If you get your missus pregnant in the next week, you can get two weeks off for paternity leave during Euro 2020.”
One supporter commented: “Don’t forget the women who are having the babies. Some will like football as well!!”
But not all supporters were convinced about the grounds for bringing a child into the world.
One wrote: “Crying child and sleepless nights. Sounds ace when the footie is on.”
Another added: “Plot twist – the child is born late and England have reached the final. You miss the birth of your newborn child.”
One fan, ‘Lisa’ said: “Boyfriend just told me he got tickets to 3 games with the boys. Then brought up the topic of wanting kids with me. I think he saw this post.”
And another, ‘Sam’ added: “Anyone with a kid knows that what this actually means is you’re going to miss half of it and any you do catch, a) won’t be at the pub with your mates b) will have a baby crying over the commentary. F**king terrible idea.”
The tournament will kick off in June next year and be held in 12 cities across Europe with the final played at Wembley.
England play Bulgaria on Saturday at Wembley before entertaining Kosovo three days later at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium in their opening qualifiers as Gareth Southgate’s men plot a route to the tournament.
