I went to see ‘A Star is Born’ when it came out. My GF broke down in tears and held me tight at the end of the movie. I decided that day to quit drinking. I’m sober for 2 years and I’m still going.

My rich uncle offered to pay off my college debt to keep me from enlisting in 2004 and get me back in class. I declined because I needed the discipline. I served for 10 years, and it was the best move I ever made. But that offer was the single kindest thing anyone ever did for me.

pikrepoI was working a lot and my partner at the time didn’t do much financially except spend. One day I went to work and had a 12-hour shift with no money or food. I see a fellow mall worker walk by and I jokingly said, ‘I’ll take one of those burritos’.
The guy actually gave it to me no matter how many times I said I was joking. I will never forget that. I was so hungry but felt so bad taking that.

wikiI’m a nurse. When my patients specifically ask for me, it humbles me. Helps me to realize amid all this, I’ve shown enough kindness and caring that they want me to care for them.

My daughter was six-years-old and crying (as six-year-olds are apt to do). I looked at her and asked, “Why are you crying?”. She said, “Sometimes you just need to get your cry out.” It was true, it was honest and it was beautiful. Her response forever changed how I interact with people.

pikrepoWhen I was separating from my abusive ex-husband, I was looking for a place to live asap. I found one, but, there were half a dozen, more qualified applicants. I told him my story and he immediately said, here’s the keys, you can move in tomorrow.
No credit check, no questions asked. He was the nicest landlord and never increased my rent. He knew I was a single mom. I’m so grateful for him and the 3 years I lived there.

This is my first year as a teacher, great timing I know. It is so hard on the students and us teachers and sometimes I doubt that I am even effectively teaching my students.
It’s really gotten to me a couple of times this year and just when I feel like I’m completely failing, the kids a student will send me an email thanking me for being a great teacher.
It brings me to tears each time and it gives me that boost to keep pushing to make my class the best I can.

Submitted by iCHIVE user OBAN14 (+100 Points)I am a former MTI (Military Training Instructor/Drill Instructor) with the Air Force. One of my graduating Airmen lost his father to a massive heart attack the weekend of his graduation.
The night of the incident the rest of the members of his flight were told what had happened. The following day they raised a few thousand dollars to help with funeral expenses.
This happened in 2006 and I never forgot how many will take care of one.
