DEATH in Paradise brings a little bit of sunshine into our lives during the cold, dark winter months.
And now, the BBC has confirmed when fans of the hit detective show can expect it to return to our screens.
Series 10 of Death in Paradise has a confirmed air date for January [/caption]
Having previously confirmed guest stars for series 10 will include Jason Manford, Kelvin Fletcher and Luke Pasqualino, the show has an official air date.
Ralf Little is returning as DI Neville Parker, having joined the show in series nine, while Josephine Jobert is back as DS Florence Cassell.
They will be seen on screen together for the first time when series 10 premieres on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Fans will also have the chance to see the show’s first ever detective, Richard Poole, return for a surprise cameo.

Ben Miller is also making a surprise return as the show’s first detective, Richard Poole [/caption]
Richard – played by Ben Miller – was killed off at the beginning of series three after being stabbed in the chest with an ice pick.
Speaking about his return on Steph’s Packed Lunch last week, Ben joked: “It’s really simple, I’m coming back as a zombie. And the ice pick that killed me is still going to be embedded in my heart, just to remind everyone of how I died!”
The 54-year-old actor continued: “In all seriousness, I loved the script they wrote, I think it’s a really clever way of bringing my character Richard Poole back.
“I can’t give away exactly how they do it but you won’t be disappointed, it’s very sensitively cleverly done and it is me!”

Meanwhile, a synopsis for the series also reveals a bit more about what fans can expect from the show.
It reads: “Florence thinks she’s ready to get back to work after her fiancé’s death two years ago – but she hasn’t banked on her new boss, Neville.
“As she tries to understand his peculiarities, sparks are bound to fly… Neville soon realises he is existing in the Caribbean, rather than embracing life there.
“With Florence’s help, he determines to seize the day and finds himself starting to reveal some of his secrets – including of a romantic nature. But is Neville really built for a life in the tropics? And is a romantic relationship ever going to be possible for him?”
Death in Paradise series 10 returns on Thursday, January 7 at 9pm on BBC One.
