A 16-year-old boy who went missing after splitting with his girlfriend has been found dead in woods near his home.
Kieran Wood vanished from his home in Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire, at 1.30pm on Friday, leaving his family distraught.
A police hunt involving tracing Kieran’s mobile phone led to the discovery of his body in a local woodland on Saturday.
His ex posted on Facebook: “I love you’d with all of my heart you beautiful boy, if I could of done even more to help you I would.”
“I really wish you was still here…to tell me everything is gonna be ok but I know I can’t expect that anymore.
“I wish you would of spoken to me sooner because I would of been there straight away, I love you forever and always you gorgeous gorgeous boy.”
Earlier a relative Sarah Lou Wood posted an appeal for information saying the “everyone is worried sick”.
West Yorkshire Police said 11.30am on Saturday police were contacted by a member of the public who had found the body of a teenage male in woods off Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury.
“An ambulance attended and the male was pronounced dead at the scene,” said the force in a statement.

“He has been identified as Kieran Wood, aged 16, from Dewsbury, who was reported missing from home on Friday afternoon.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office has been informed.”
