Ex-rugby player cheated death after helicopter engine failed at 1200ft

AN ex-teammate of rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson cheated loss of life in a helicopter crash-landing after engine failure at 1,200ft.

Jim Jenner was piloting girlfriend Laurie Nichol when energy minimize out.

Ten seconds later the chopper hit the bottom and flipped 3 times.

But he was unharmed and Laurie, 31, solely suffered minor accidents.

Property mogul Jim, 47, flying to a gathering, had a break up second to start out emergency measures.

He stated: “There was heaps to do. Rugby taught me to operate beneath strain.”

Emergency groups raced to Higher Snodsbury, Worcs.

Jim, with Jonny at Newcastle Falcons, stated: “They have been stunned to see we have been OK. The air ambulance pilot stated I did a terrific job.”

The Robinson R2 chopper was wrecked. The couple took one other helicopter out a day later to “get again on the horse”. Ambulance chiefs stated: “They have been fortunate.”
