Felicity Huffman’s daughter Georgia adds ‘Vassar 2024’ to Instagram after college admissions scandal

Felicity Huffman’s daughter has seemingly announced that she will be attending Vassar College in 2020, just one month after her mother completed a prison sentence for her part in the college admissions scandal.

Georgia Macy’s Instagram profile bio read ‘Vassar 2024’ Tuesday and the same day the Poughkeepsie, New York school’s logo was posted to her Stories alongside an emoji of a smiling face covered in hearts.

Before Huffman was arrested in March, Georgia’s actor father William H Macy told Parade magazine in January that Georgia is ‘interested in politics, political science and [is] pursuing that’.

Since being released from Federal Correctional institution in Dublin, California, on October 25 – after serving just 11 days of what was supposed to be a two-week sentence – Huffman has been fulfilling her community service requirements at The Teen Project in Los Angeles.

Huffman is in the midst of doing 250 hours of community service at the non-profit organization which serves at-risk homeless and sex trafficked young women.

She will be on probation for the 11 months and must pay a $30,000 fine as part of her punishment for having paid an exam proctor $15,000 to falsify her other daughter Sophia Grace’s SAT test.

Huffman considered running the scam a second time for Georgia, who attends Westridge high school in New Jersey, but changed her mind.

It’s no wonder Georgia, 17, proudly posted about the college. Vassar considers their admissions process ‘highly selective’.

‘Although we weigh a number of factors in the admission decision, the most important is academic ability, as demonstrated by performance in high school,’ the school writes online.

‘We also consider personal strengths, motivation, and potential as evidenced in essays, recommendations, and out-of-class involvements. Standardized test scores are also reviewed, as an indicator of academic aptitude.’

To get a decision now, Georgia would have applied on an Early Decision basis. The application deadline was mid-November to be notified of acceptance by mid-December.

The school says that an Early Decision application reduces the stressful time students have while applying throughout the year.

It may have been a factor for Georgia who wrote in an August 2018 social media post: ‘I want to go back to being a Freshman please. Too much pressure.’

Vassar also says it ‘allows the Admission Committee to take your commitment to Vassar into account in the selection process’.

However, those admitted are required to withdraw applications to other universities and a parent, counselor, and the student is required to sign their ED agreement.

The school is also ‘committed to meeting 100% of the demonstrated financial need, as determined by our Financial Aid Office, of all admitted Early Decision candidates’.

In September, Georgia was spotted volunteering with her mother but it was unclear whether it counted toward Huffman’s community service sentence.

In a letter to the court as Huffman’s sentencing was considered, her husband shared that the family was undergoing counselling in the wake of the scandal.

‘After her arrest Felicity found a wonderful family therapist and we’ve all been going (in various combinations) for the last few months,’ Shameless star Macy wrote. ‘There is much to be done, and some of the hurt and anger will take years to work through, but we are making progress.’

Neither Georgia or Sophia was aware of Huffman’s payment to forge tests.

Macy said in his letter that Sophia, 19, was devastated when an offer to audition at a college was rescinded in the wake of the Operation Varsity Blues scandal.

Vassar considers time contributed in the arts, music or dance in the application process too.

DailyMail.com didn’t immediately get a response when contacting Vassar, Huffman and Macy’s reps for comments.
