Ferne McCann condemned for ‘not wearing a seat belt’ on First Time Mum

FERNE McCann has come under fire from road safety experts after she was seen in a moving car without a seat belt on her reality show First Time Mum.

The 28-year-old former Towie star is shown being whisked to a glitzy event racing past the traffic outside – but with the safety device not visible.

Wednesday’s episode saw Ferne head out to see Charlie Brake wearing a plunging lilac suit, explaining: “My t**s look phenom. They actually look really decent.”

Viewers then watched her clamber into a taxi, where it seemed she neglected to put her seat belt on.

However, in a later shot, Ferne is shown having finally buckled up as the car speeds through London.

Joshua Harris from driving charity Brake told The Sun Online: “Seat belts are proven to be the most effective way of keeping yourself safe in a crash and so we urge all drivers and passengers, including Ferne, to always buckle up.”

He added: “Tragically there are still more than four people a week who needlessly die on our roads when not belted up.

“We need to see greater investment in enforcement and awareness raising to make sure everyone gets the message that seat belts save lives.

“Ultimately every death on the road is preventable but a death of someone not wearing a seat belt could so easily be avoided.”

Under UK law, you must wear a seat belt if one is fitted in the seat you’re using – with penalty fines of up to £500 being dished out to people who don’t.

Ferne does a lot of driving in the show – and often no seat belt can be seen
However, the star does favour large fluffy coats that could hide the safety device

There is plenty of footage of Ferne driving herself around in First Time Mum and often a seat belt is not visible.

However, given the voluminous coats she tends to wears on the show, the safety device could be obscured to viewers.

The Sun contacted a rep for Ferne earlier today, but did not receive a reply.
