HARRY Potter fans can now journey through the Forbidden Forest after Universal Orlando opened their latest groundbreaking attraction.
Queues for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure had a waiting time of 10 hours as soon as the park opened its doors this morning.
The loveable groundskeeper of Hogwarts School takes centre stage in the latest innovative attraction that gives guests the chance to ride Hagrid’s flying motorbike.
Wannabe wizard’s become students attending one of Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures lessons, but things soon take a turn for the worse as the motorbike backfires, leading to shock drops and backward falls.
With a 17ft drop and reaching speeds of 50mph, the ride features beloved creatures including Fluffy the three-headed dog, Cornish Pixies and a Blast-Ended Screwt, a creature from author J.K. Rowling‘s books that never made it on to the screen.
Guests get a completely different experience depending on if they sit in the driver’s seat or sidecar.
The vehicle features a speaker and lights that allow Hagrid to narrate your journey, with music that provides an atmospheric soundtrack to the exhilarating adventure.
The bravest of adrenaline junkies should make a beeline for the front motorbike.
With no riders in front of you, and 1200 real trees surrounding you, you’ll feel like you are soaring right through the heart of the Forbidden Forest, a world away from the bustling theme park.
With queues lasting up to 10 hours on opening day, riders will be entertained in the line as they explore Hagrid’s hut and his collection of enchanted artefacts.
To launch the ride, Universal recruited some of the film franchise’s most famous faces – with Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), Warwick Davies (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) all attending.
Robbie Coltrane sent a video message to die-hard fans who had queued hours to be the first on the ride.
The 69-year-old told riders: “I am excited to welcome to you to this new chapter of magic, here at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
“Soon we will embark on an adventure through the Forbidden Forest. It may be dark and sometimes dangerous, but it is full of many magical creatures…
“Be sure to hang on to your motorbike, and most importantly, have fun everyone!”
