LUCAS DI GRASSI sealed home victory for Audi at the Formula E in Berlin as battle for the championship intensified.
The Brazilian moves up to second place in the Drivers’ Championship six points behind leader Jean-Eric Vergne who finished today’s race in the German capital third.
Di Grassi secured his second race win of the season following his triumph in Mexico in February.
Starting from third on pole, Di Grassi took the lead on turn 6 and began to dominate at the Berlin Tempelhof Airport circuit. Pole leader Sebastien Buemi took second place.
Vergne, now on 102 points in the Drivers’ Standings, used an early attack mode 20 minutes in and began an overtaking spree as he fought back from starting in ninth place on the grid to finish third.
But was back-to-back Berlin ePrix victories for home team Audi – they had also won last year through Daniel Abt.
Di Grassi said: “I felt well and used attack mode at the right time.
“Everything felt very good.
“The team work 24/7 to make my car better so this is for them.”
