She said: ‘I think he’d love to do. Whenever we’ve had dancers in The Saturdays or when I was in Strictly, he was always getting them to teach him moves.

‘[Strictly pro] Aljaž [Škorjanec] taught him how to do the figure of eight with the hips and that one comes out when he’s had a few beers.

Hilariously adding: ‘I think if he was allowed to drink beforehand he might be actually quite good.’

Aside from revealling her long-term love’s hope to appear on the series, Frankie explained that this year’s Strictly recruits have their work cut out for them.

The brunette beauty captured the hearts of the nation when she was paired up with professional Kevin Clifton and was the first contestant on the 2014 instalment to earn a 10 from the judges for her Paso Doble to to West Side Story’s America.

Although narrowly beaten by presenter Caroline Flack for the coveted glitterball trophy, Frankie fondly remembered her time on the show and explained that she envy’s show newbies, who are about to take on the dancing feat.

Despite her jealous, the songstress insisted that hopefuls including Vick Hope, Lee Ryan and YouTuber Joe Suggs will have an uphill challenge learning latin and ballroom moves.

‘It’s got easier now,’ she said. ‘I think the first couple of years were the hardest. I envy them because I know they’re about to have so much fun and it’s going to be something you get to remember forever. You get to learn some amazing things, it’s such a fun experience.

Continuing: ‘But I also feel them as well like, “You have no idea how hard you’re going to work over the next three months.”‘

Frankie added that she felt ‘pressure’ while on the show as critics assumed she would find the the ballroom ‘easy’ due to her girlband past.

She revealed: ‘I think because I had danced in a band, the pressure was on more. People assumed I would find it easy.

‘I think my strong point was learning routines but actually doing them how you’re supposed to do them and some of the moves and the way your body is supposed to move was so alien. It was so hard and it takes such a lot of work.

Adding: ‘It’s amazing what they do, they make it look so easy. It’s difficult but it’s so cool to come away from something having learnt something new.’

Although excited for the upcoming series, which kicks off on Saturday, Frankie said it was early days to pick a winner but she definitely has her eye Pussycat Dolls’ Ashley Roberts and broadcaster Katie Piper.

‘I don’t really know any of them that well and don’t know their skill just yet,’ she said. ‘Ashley Roberts is obviously going to be amazing, that’s a given.

‘I know Katie and she’s lovely so at the minute I’m rooting for her but I have no idea what anyone is like at dancing.’

‘I feel like I’m not asking people to go out of their way to hand over some money for things they don’t need. They’re things that we would be buying regularly anyway.
