Fulham ace Ryan Sessegnon lead 10-strong shortlist for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award

FULHAM and England starlet Ryan Sessegnon heads a 10-strong shortlist for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The 18-year-old sensation helped the West London side win Premier League promotion last season and he broke in to the Three Lions under-21 team.

The left-sided talent won the Championship player of the season and young player of the season awards at the end of the last campaign and could add another individual accolade to his collection.

But, just like the talented teen has discovered in the top flight this season, competition is tough at the top and he’s already a veteran compared to some rivals.

Table tennis sensation Anna Hursey is on the shortlist aged just TWELVE.

The youngest-ever Commonwealth Games competitor will have to forgo any celebratory champagne at the star-studded event but can at least get a child’s fare on the tube home.

Para-athlete Kare Adenegan, 17, swimmer Freya Anderson, 17 and 16-year-old jockey James Bowen are also in the running.

Wimbledon’s 2018 boys’ star Jack Draper, 16 , 17-year-old Georgia-Mae Fenton, rugby league’s Georgia Roche, 16-year-old athlete Max Burgin and para-swimming’s Maisie Summers-Newton, 16, complete the line-up.
