FULHAM have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign ex-Chelsea star Andre Schurrle.

The German international winger has been told he can leave Borussia Dortmund this summer if he is able to find another club.

Schurrle, 27, has returned to Europe from the Bundesliga club’s US tour to hold discussions with interested parties.

And reports in Germany claim Craven Cottage boss Slavisa Jokanovic wants to add the 57-cap ace to his squad.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson has already been credited with an interest in Schurrle.

Dortmund hope to land Eagles star man Wilfried Zaha, and are considering to using the German frontman as a makeweight in a deal.

However Schurrle is understood to be tempted by the prospect of returning to familiar territory in west London.

Chelsea paid Bayer Leverkusen £18million for him in 2013, and he scored 14 goals in 65 Blues appearances before leaving for Wolfsburg in January 2015.

Fulham share the SW6 postcode with their Stamford Bridge rivals, and the clubs lie just two Tube stops apart on the District Line.

Ironically Schurrle scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Craven Cottage in March 2014.

Dortmund coach Lucien Favre has told Schurrle he is not part of the club’s plans.

And sporting director Michael Zorc said: “Andre is holding exploratory talks with clubs. There are firm foundations to them.

“We have discussed his situation frankly with him.

“We have told him that we have lots of other options in his role – and said that the club’s plans are moving in a new direction.”

Fulham have made ambitious plans for their Premier League return, and have already bought Nice duo Jean-Michael Seri and Maxime Le Marchand.

And the Cottagers could now make another statement of intent – by bringing former Premier League title winner Schurrle back to the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

  1. Let the woman live the life she wants! If she is happy with what she is doing then let her be! If most people are happy with material things, obviously, Susan is happy just singing infront of many people. She is happy making people happy! She is a gem, a rare gem.
