GMB viewers left cringing over Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid’s interview with family of nudists

The show has suffered with plummeting ratings since the departure of Piers Morgan

And, Good Morning Britain viewers were left cringing over Richard Madeley, 65, and Susanna Reid’s, 50, ‘excruciating’ interview with a family of nudists, on Monday.

With nudism on the rise, the co-hosts were tasked with finding out why it’s so appealing to bare all, but the 11-minute segment didn’t find favour with viewers.

Speaking from a field in Doncaster, Carol and Colin Wood along with their daughter Angie explained why they preferred life without clothes.

Covering their naked bodies by kneeling behind straw bales, Colin explained: ‘It’s enjoyable, it’s convenient, you’re not struggling to change your clothes in a small tent, and people trust each other.

‘I’ve had many ladies go with me in a Land Rover across the field and there’s a trust that isn’t there in other societies.’

Asked by Richard if they ever feel judged, Colin insisted: ‘No, not at all. By the time you’ve taken to naturism you’re happy with your body.

‘@GMB really scraping the barrel with news. A proper cringy interview about nudists! Poor form from @susannareid100,’ blasted one viewer.

‘How torturous is GMB this morning? This nudist interview has to be the worst ever shown on live TV. How not to do a live interview,’ tweeted another.

Someone else asked: ‘Am I the only one who thought the nudist interview was like pulling teeth and beyond awkward ? #GMB.’
